4 out of 5 stars Very happy with puchase. But sensor in main body off 5*   August 26, 2010

We placed the included extra sensor outside in the shade under my BBQ. The display shows both values and the min/max (when button is pressed) nicely. It updates the temperatures often (several times/min ?).
My only complaint is the while the remote (outside) sensor appears quite accurate, the indoor sensor, that is the sensor in the main display body, is off by about 5 degrees. While this doesnt matter as much to me as the outside temp, it is annoying and might be a deal-breaker for someone else.

5 out of 5 stars Dress according to outside temperature   August 18, 2010

I've always wanted a thermometer that can tell me how cold or how hot it is outside before my kids go to school. I already have a big clock style thermometer in the breeze way that shows the temperature in the shade. But when I go under the sun or get in the car, it's a completely different story.
I put the sensor outside where the sun gets directly on it. The past couple of days had been extremely hot and my children know what to wear before going outside or to school. You need 2 AA batteries and 2 AAA batteries. The digital display is large and I can read it even from 10 feet away. Just note that when you set the time to 12-hour format, it displays the temperature in Fahrenheit. When you set the time to 24-hour format, it displays the temperature in Celsius.

I received my Thermometer in a timely manner after placing my order with Amazon. I have been pleased with the ease of set-up and the large, dark readout which is very easy to read even across a room of about 15 feet in width. I would recommend this product as cost effective.

5 out of 5 stars Present for Dad   August 8, 2010
Eric Lee (Upstate, NY)
I got my dad a new wireless thermometer for his birthday after he had been complaining about his then current one malfunctioning. I also got an extra digital readout temperature sensor. My dad said it was a little tricky getting both sensors to work at the same time. You have to put the batteries in just the right order and in just the right window of time to get them all working together. But now that both sensors work, he absolutely loves this thermometer.

3 out of 5 stars Good while it lasted   August 4, 2010

I enjoyed having this wireless thermometer to help with my gardening and to be able to complain about the heat! However, it stopped working after about 8 months of use. I've been to the website to "troubleshoot" and it is still dead in the water. The receiver works, but the transmitter stopped transmitting. I kept it protected under a gazebo to keep off most rain, but I'm sure it got wet from time to time; after all, it is outside. After checking on Amazon, I am "beyond" the return date to do anything except throw it in the trash. Would love to have one that works.
