3 out of 5 stars Only cooler climes   July 27, 2008
This looks cool and works well in a shaded spot on my patio. It's never been wet. I noticed however the digits were getting hard to read when the temperature was over 85F or so. It became non-functional over 95F. (It is 100F right now) This is completely ridiculous for a place like Texas. I replaced the battery to make sure. Digits were barely visible until I stuck it in the fridge and then the digits magically reappeared! Oh, well.

5 out of 5 stars Temp at a glance   July 18, 2008
I put this on the slider to the deck. It works well and is at a very handy location to monitor the outside temp every time walking into the kitchen.
If you plan to put it on the slider in your home BE SURE THE SLIDER HAS A STOP before it contacts the thermometer. That is why I purchased a second one :).

5 out of 5 stars I love mine!   July 6, 2008
I have had my two thermometers for over a year. They both work great, and most of the time, their temperature matches that of the temperatures listed by the media. I have had several people purchase one as the result of the ones they have seen in my home.

5 out of 5 stars Window Thermometer   June 20, 2008
This is a great thermometer at a nice price. Bought two of them a year ago and gave one to a friend. Have had many positive comments about mine at home. The daily min/max readings are great and it resets itself every day. Bought two more recently to use elsewhere.

4 out of 5 stars Decent outdoor thermometer, but should do better outdoors   May 27, 2008
A pretty simple outdoor thermometer that adheres to the exterior glass of a window pane using an included sticker strip.

Unfortunately, this thermometer requires moderate shielding from the weather. In a pounding rainstorm, water can get inside the unit. It doesn't exactly stop the unit from working, but the LCD crystal doesn't display as strongly as when the unit has dried out. If window it is mounted on doesn't receive any rain, then it should be fine.

Displays the current temperature as well as the minimum and maximum temperatures for the day. Min and Max temps get reset at something like 5am. (you have to set the time on the thermometer when you first install the battery. oddly enough, it has no ability to normally display the time despite having an internal clock.)

Comes with a removable translucent plastic back cover to make the LCD crystal display more readable. The unit also can be unmounted easily to change the single AA battery (which typically lasts about a year.)

I got one of these 2 years and the LCD display has started to peel away from the glass so the "minimum temperature" is practically illegible now. The current and max temp is still fine. I suspect the LCD peeling away had to do with that it seems to catch lots of weather from being on such an exposed window.

I've since bought another of this same model to replace the aging one. As outdoor thermometers go, this unit is good enough for the money. If it cost any more than 15 clams, I'd be disappointed though.
